It is well known among mail order pros that selling opportunity seeker name lists is one of the quickest and best ways to earn money in mail order marketing. Hardly any overhead.

Selling name lists is also the perfect way for beginners to start in mail marketing sales. Lists come under the category "information" and we all know selling information by mail is the most profitable, easiest business to succeed in. Reproducing your name list for pennies and selling to dealers for dollars just makes good sense. Packaging and Shipping cost is easier and lowest in the "information" selling business.

On occasion I sell blocks of my list data-base that is less than six months old. These are excellent names that are cleaned regularly - removing deadwood (undeliverables) and adding new names. I sell them at a super discounted price, way below wholesale. The list is more than 5000 - usually a hundred or more over 5000.

I have mailed to these names myself in the past six months and many as recently as just days before you get them. My lists are "cleaned" by continuous mailings to them. Actually, the post office keeps a list cleaned for you by returning any undeliverables to you - with the new address or reason they are undeliverable. With that information we can update the list or remove the name.

You add to your list by simply adding names of customers, prospects that send you inquiries - or even those that solicit you. If you have a computer, finding a name on the list is easy - using the "notepad" find feature and just type the name in.

Set your own prices. Sell repeatedly at lower prices. Like 500 for $10.00. That is 17 sheets of paper (510 names) sold for $10! Make even more money copying on labels and charging double your paper price. Labels available at Sam's and other outlets.

A computer makes maintaining and reproducing lists easier, but it is not absolutely required. You can come up with all kinds of ways to deal with your name list without a computer.

All you need is a supply of good names, access to a copier or computer scanner and printer, run some ads and you are in business. Orders easy to fill. If you follow through with your name list business, it would not be long before you can afford to buy your own copier.

 

You can have your list on paper (see below), on disk or by email. Which ever is best for you.

On disk or by email, the names are sent to you in comma delimited format - ready to import into your list data-base. If your program does not accept .csv extension files - (which is the common format used by most programs), OR, your program can not "save as" the .csv format to the format you use - or you have no idea what I am talking about...
